Relocating Interior Air Intake

I have a '04 Blue Bird AA. Currently, the air intake is inside, on the rear deck. I want to relocate the air intake inside the engine bay, aimed at the rear side access door, directly underneath where it currently is. Has anyone done this, & if so, did it affect the air flow into the engine? Thanks!!
