Started up the bus and moved it around John's yard for a while yesterday afternoon.
Man, this is good solid old bus. They definitely don't build em like this anymore. I'm gonna miss the old girl when she's gone.

They're really good engines, I love the sound.
I've tried to start it and run it around every few months. But it needs a good run for sure.
Gona be sad to see it go, but glad its going to a good home.

Got the wiring for the body and lights all back in. used some extra zip ties to keep it in place nicely.
Primed the rib extensions finally, after treating them.
Coming along nicely. Gonna put the rivets in the lower part of the transition piece, and then prime it tomorrow probably.

Talked to Eddie last night.
His cancer is inoperable. He's going to have the chemo port in him the rest of his life.

Looks good and good to see you getting back to it.

I need some reusable tie wraps some I can move the bundle around. Right now it's supported for a fair length by itself and since I haven't thinned the bundle it's heavy. I cut all the emergency windows but haven't pulled the wire. Still have all the lights, speakers, and the two emergency doors. I bypassed the side door mechanically just by shoving a bunch of brackets under the switch but since that one will keep the bus from starting, I haven't gone as far as cutting it. I need to check the drawings before I go doing that.

You're in the medical field. They aren't going to be a picnic even if it does vary.

Yeah, chemo side effects suck.
What meant to ask was if there was any other complications. [emoji20]

You'd think that by now someone would have come up with an alternative to having massive doses of poison pumped into your body as a "treatment".

I'm a stage four cancer survivor myself and can verify that chemo sucks. Big time. But all you can do is take it and try to fix it in your head that you will not go gently into that good night. Fight it.

All my best to your friend.

I've said that for years.

In a hundred years (hopefully less) chemo is going to be looked at in the same light as smoke enemas. Wait, they did what why?!??!!! What the hell were they thinking???? Why wouldn't they just gene splice x and y?

I'm not big on conspiracies. Whomever invents the cure for cancer is going to be a billionaire over night and a trillionaire by the end of the week. If that some ONE is some company (i.e. Pfizer) so be it.

The problem is that drug companies look for treatments, not cures.

That is why a modern economy funds public, and university, research labs and doesn't demand that they pay their way.

It's not a conspiracy, it's simply their business model and you can't blame them for that.

That's a bad business model. Bad PR too. So, here's what I would do. I cured your cancer so that's my first trillion dollars. Week 2, I walk across the street to the chemical division and have them make a new cleaning fluid. Works better than the last. It doesn't give you cancer . It gives you cancer Y. Now I have a new cancer I need to make a cure for.

And name one pharm company that isn't in the chemical business.

He's feeling good he says. He's not in nearly as much pain now and the chemo isn't too bad.
Its his prognosis.
They've told him its progressed way to much to remove or operate on it at all and that he's going to have the chemo port in him until he dies.
Its not a big surprise given what I already knew about his condition. But still really hard to accept. I love Eddie.

Eddie has become a very firm believer in the treatment he's receiving. According to him the chemo is helping and he's glad to have it. It has the tumors shrinking and his blood work is coming back better every test.
Hoping he makes it a long time. He's really REALLY a hell of a guy.

I'm no doctor; can't even play one on TV but that sounds a hell of a lot better than anything else I have EVER heard about chemo. Take the small victories where you can get them.

Doctors should stay out of Vegas since they are only slightly better at odds than the weatherman but have they said anything about long term effects, survival rate etc? If it's too much to think about or talk about ignore me.
