Done with the brown Rusto for now
Still need to do more sketchy work priming the sides of the tank. I'm able to get the can of Rusto self-etching primer inside the chassis rails upside down and then I spray the hell out of the side of the tank, then I have a little foam roller that I can get it to spread it around. Then I use my ipod camera to see if I've gotten everything.
The last little bits of the side I can reach from underneath.
If I have problems with this tank paint adhering, I'll always be able to pull the tank later and repaint everything that needs it then.
Now I have to finish the tank, seam-seal everything that needs it, then get to making it the hideous yellow all over.

I might buy one of these: https://www.harborfreight.com/250-lb...est-63311.html and keep it on a rack underneath the bus, so I can show off the underside more easily.
Actually, I think I'm going to get one of these just to make working underneath easier. This thing looks positively relaxing!

No, the yellow will be the final color for the chassis and the underside of the body floor (the primer was brown). My theory is that this color will allow me to detect any places where the underside is continuing to rust, allowing me to deal with these spots as they come up. And since it's on the bottom, the only people who will see it will be the ones I'm running over.

Thank you very much. It really is awful work though, trying to get a little brush into every nook and cranny of these parts. And the whole thing is going to need a second coat. 
I'm just going to try to get a solid painting session done in the morning and one in the afternoon each day, and it will be done when it's done.
