Re: Space Oddity

Awesome bus and nice progress! What type of metal did you use to cover the windows and where did you get it? Also, where did you get the RV style windows, they look nice? Just trying to build up my notes list so I can roll when I am able to pull the trigger and finally buy my rig. Thanks.

Re: Space Oddity

I bought windows on E bay. they were from $40 to $65 ea. I used 16 gauge hot roll. I bought the steel from a local welding shop.I had them order 5' x 8' sheets to get width I wanted. only cost $15 dollars more to get the extra foot in width.

Nice job so far! I'll keep my eye on your build, I'm behind you, just taking the floor up. How difficult was it to frame the new windows in? I'll be doing the same thing...

Re: Space Oddity

windows, so far that has been the most difficult.the rear windows i bought, were 1 inch larger then expected. so they had to fit under eyebrow. the right rear is an emergency window so panel at top and bottom material was only 3/4 wide. so wanted to bend while cutting. hinge and to be move to clear area between eyebrows so panel would lay flat..

I have access to a fab shop's steel at cost. I'm going to take measurements and have them plasma cut the whole affair for me. I'm thinking of going 14ga though.
Do you have any more pics of the window paneling process? I'm almost to that point in the project.
Great thread and an excellent bus!

Hi everyone, it's been a while since have posted. This doesn't mean i haven't been working on bus. i did get stove vent and wiring installed. also finished fuse panels and house battery wiring.

I also installed galvanized steel above stove and put in green accent lights.

Fuse panel, and house battery panel. Inside upper panel has volt meter and tank meters and water pump, battery, inverter switches
