Take her top off !!!

Realized that drilling out 80 industrial rivets, in each seam, to get this metal cladding off the ceiling, then insulating between structural members, with leaking rivets still allowing water into steel structural, simply wasn't best.
So instead, I cut out the center of the roof and toss it (I keep the radius because I like the look) , then weld up a new roof (also deck), and insulate the entire floor of the deck (which is also the new , higher, inside ceiling), achieving much better sound deadening, better insulation, and offering a very stable, flat roof deck. I always do a raise up hand rail- so people don't fall). The work to remove the stupid ceiling is similar, and the hatch can be relocated anywhere. Even if you use steel, and pay a welder to fab up the platform, it's still a nice added inside ceiling elevation, and if not used as a deck, can be very cost effective, with 100% assurance that water will not get in and destroy the hard work, if insulated with water proof closed cell foam.
Just my 2cents. Here is a pic.
