Restoration makes any build more challenging. It is just the nature of old rigs that they require more work (ask me how I know). Making any 20+ year old vehicle (or in my case...70 year old vehicle) road worthy & safe has to be the first step...then...you can actually begin "converting".
But the up side is...you end up with something really unique. Hang in there.

I think I recall seeing that Crown on Chicago Craigslist. It was a '74 with an automatic, right?

The most difficult part of a Crown build is dealing with the curved sides. But once you get the hang of making patterns with a compass, it goes pretty easy.
I got the board next to the wall cut and mounted today for my cabinet project. Should be ready to cut some doors for the cabinets soon and get those mounted.
Here are few pics:

neat entry way and looks like a really nice spot for the passenger to stay now. great job on that piece of wood... would've taken me a couple hours on just that one piece! looks like it fits just right.

Nice job. That's another good place to put a coffee cup beside the big chair.

Man that is one fine lookin Crown Jewel you have there. Love all the work you have done. I have a 1954 that was converted late 90s that I'm going to use as a guest house as too expensive to drive.

long time skoolie.net lurker newbie poster here that recently bought a Mid-Engine 67 Gillig thats been parially converted into a skoolie toyhauler. Love this conversion page! The Brown Crown is insipring! I'm not sure if I missed this part, but what did you do with the original floor, and if no insulation was added there, has it been an issue?
