I'm thinking of making my own camera mounts to mount them to the front of the dash so they sit low on the dash like the camera on the left.

Thanks Racer,
I'm actually trying to find another dash shell, this one is damaged in numerous places.
Finally ran the tube up the frame rail. Messy working on my back under the bus.

Got a pic of the entire dash area handy; what's to the left? How about attaching them to the right SIDE of the dash? Might stick out too far in the stair landing. Takes up too much of the windshield even flush mounted. My "dash" ends about where your parking brake is at then drops down to the heater cover. The back of my dash also slopes down to the windshield so I should have lots of options for placement without blocking.
Not sure where/how but consider putting them in the same line of sight as the mirrors since you'll be using those backing up /lane changes anyway.

Here's the area I'm working with. You can see all the cracks and damage to the dash shell, would like to replace it if it's reasonably priced, I'm sure it won't be.
When referencing the mirrors, dp you mean the side mirrors? The back up camera normally won't go on unless I'm backing up, unless I manually turn it on. Where I have the monitors now doesn't really restrict my sight much more than a bit in the front center.

I was expecting a rectangular OBD2 port. This round one is a 6 pin utilizing only 4 of them.
Here's the cups if you're interested:

Nice. Any concerns with copper rattling or breaking at the fittings? Did you have to isolate the lines from vibrations at all, or is copper strong enough?

If you look closely, as the copper line bends up over the tank you can see it is sheathed in nylon tube it's full 16' length. Secured to the floor cross braces with PEX hangers,. I'm not concerned about vibration at this point.

Good God, it's hot out there. I had to work in 1.5 hr increments and then go into the AC in the house. Finally ran out of flooring about 3 pieces short. I was literally drenched, so much so that I changed clothes and weighed my T-Shirt. Dry it weighs 6oz., wet it weight 1.2lbs.
For once, being only 5'8" has it's advantages. Plenty of headroom left after a 2" floor.

Yes, since you're backing up anyway, you'll be looking in the mirrors already hence line of sight with them. Even if you manually turn them on, it's because some jackass is doing something to provoke Darwin and you're watching the mirrors anyway.
Where the hell is Chris? There has to be a way to replace the OEM mirrors with mirrored monitors. With no voltage/signal, it's a mirror. Flip the switch and the mirror monitor turns on and now it's the camera. Shouldn't cost much more than the bus itself per camera.

The floor looks great. How did you attach or is it floating?
Thanks for the back-up camera tip. Just ordered one.
