Fanstastic Fans are in
I got the two fantastic fans temporarily installed. One is in my bunk room the other is in the main living area. I need them mounted so I can finish my ceiling framing but I'll pull them out when I paint the exterior. The toilet room will be ventilated through the composting toilet's fan and I have a Maxxair dome on its way for the shower room. I'm trying to get hole cut for anything that needs to go through the roof prior to painting the exterior and sprayfoaming.

Fantastic fan ceiling frame and Maxx air dome installed
I got to work on the bus a little yesterday. I got the framework installed that will support the ceiling sheetmetal around the vent fans. I also had time to temporarily install the maxx air dome fan for the shower. It was a measure twice cut once installation due to how close the fan is to my AC condenser on the outside and how close it will be to be to where the interior AC duct will be. The 6 3/8 inch hole saw I got made a really nice cut in the bus roof. The next project is to fabricate a ceiling support to go around the maxx air dome fan on the interior.

Work on the bus is slowly progressing. This inspirational movie happened to pop up the other day. This is what I want to do when I get my bus done...with the addition of wife and kids and maybe a dog. Not so much the spinning flippity tricks. I'm getting too old for those.

That dome fan looks great. Are those intended for use over a shower? I bought a Maxxair fan (the regular kind) to install over my shower, and though the instructions say not to use it for this purpose I went ahead anyway. My thought is that if I ever do kill the motor with the excess humidity, I can replace it or the whole thing fairly easily.

Yes the dome fan will be in the shower. It will be on the other side of the room from the shower head so it shouldn't get splahed with water. I wanted to try to reduce the amount of moisture that would spread to the rest of the bus.
I think on most of the fans you can replace the motor without removing the whole fan.

Thanks. I'm planning on using aluminum sheet for the ceiling and I'm trying to minimize locations that it could be loose and vibrate.

I grew up in North West New Mexico, my family had a vacation cabin in Rico along the Galloping Goose line. It was about 18 miles south of Telluride.. I just came across this old picture yesterday from the 90s of me (high school) in front of an old restaurant sign in Rico.
Strangely enough, there is also a Galloping Goose bike trail on an old rail line in my current home city (Victoria, BC). I thought it was a fairly common thing until I looked into it, and it seems to be the only two occurrences of the name.
A little coincidence I thought worth mentioning.

AC duct ribs
I got started bending ribs for my AC duct work today. Its my first time really making anything on my harbor frieght bender. It took a couple trys to get the metal cut to the right length and to get the bend in the right location. Once I got a pattern made I could make them almost identical.
I'm about halfway done.

AC duct ribs finnished!
I got all the AC duct ribs welded in and they are mostly aligned with each other. I still have to grind down the welds and paint but that goes pretty fast.

Thank you. Yah the freshest freshies are getting are getting harder come come by in the resorts.I think there will be alot of touring in the future once my kids get big enough.

A little progress has been made. I have all the tubing cut and nutserts installed for the frame work below the windows. Now waiting for it to warm up enough to paint and then bolt / weld in the tubing. At 0*F my heater can get my un-insulated shop up to only 30*F. The last couple days the highs have been below 0. Once it warms up I will be able to wrap up the interior fab work and will be ready for paint and spary foam in the spring.
Next on the list is underbody storage and leveling jack installation. I have piano hinges on the way.
I did get the sheet metal support for my maxx air dome installed and speaker supports made.

I'm still thinking about how I want to do my underbody storage. I'm planning on carefully cutting out the skirting so it can be used as the door. I'm going to cover the cut edges with rubber edge trim so they aren't sharp and look nice. I've gotten my stainless piano hinge in so they can be attached while cutting the door so I can keep them aligned with the opening. I'll have to reinforce the doors some and build a frame inside the opening for the door to seal against and latch to.
The structure for the floor of the storage will be suspended from the frame. I am going to try to avoid drilling the frame if I can. I am going to try to have as few verticle supports as possible so that the storage space is as open as possible making it easier to throw mountaintain bikes, kayaks ect in easilly.
For the floor I have some very large light weight aluminum extrusions about 3 feet wide, eight feet long and 2 inches thick. They are rigid enough to span the width of the bus without support. They will set into an angle iron frame for support.

I'm planning the exact same thing haha. I want to retain a factory look as much as possible. I don't like the look of truck boxes just cut into the side of the bus.
I'll be documenting both on here and YouTube. Let's keep in touch on this since I'm sure we'll both have to make some changes here and there to the plan.
