When I bought the power inlet they had this cord as an accessory.
They have it on adventureRV for $69.94.

Re: The Journey Visvi 1999 Thomas MVP ER
I pulled the bus up in front of my apartment. Ran the power cord over to the outdoor outlet. Cranked on my Halogen lights and got ready for work. It would be nice to have heat, but I don't want to run the bus batteries down. Then I remembered, I have the battery charger I was using to charge my new house batteries with. I dropped an extension cord out the back emergency door. In the battery bay I hooked up the bus batteries to the charger and kicked on the Wabasto. When I needed heat I turned the ignition to aux. This will come in handy on Sunday, high 37 low 28, brrr.
I got the last of the rubber off.
After I took this photo I realized I still needed to get the rubber off the wheel wells. Not a big issue it came off easy.
Then I started to wire wheel the rust. I have one of these for my grinder, correction porkchops grinder, it did not fit mine.
It took 20 minutes to do the top two panels. I think from here on, I'm just going to knock off the loose rust. Otherwise it will take too long. Then I will cover it with OSPHO and paint with Rust-Oleum.

Flows nicely and when properly applied forms a truly watertight and very durable seal.

That is what I plan to do, I have some OSPHO and Sikaflex 221

I think I have a problem, I'm an over poster. I now have 576 pictures of my bus, and most of them are in this post. I have as many post as some who started two years ago, and I just started in July.

Good job on the roof raising. Good luck on the inside. That rust is a messy business; don't forget the breather mask.

I had 4 wheel well rust throughs, if you only have 1 that's good. The rust has been what I've been doing for the last month. It's everywhere. Stairs too. Been cutting it out grinding it on both inside and out, then welding it and sealing it. Maryland is wet and salty.

Montgomery county does not use salt on their roads. Frederick county does and you should see the rust on their buses. Be glad you got the bus you have.
I have three holes, the rear is small, not much damage. The front two have rust on the rear of the wheel wells. I'm taking a trip to Indiana over the holiday, two weeks, 1500 mile round trip. I will deal with the stairs when I get back.

Re: The Journey Visvi 1999 Thomas MVP ER
Amazingly...my '46 Chevy (now 67 years young) had zero rust through on the floor and none around the wheel wells. Only on the spacers between the inner and outer sheet metal and a few spots on the body. It appears they may have used creosote on a lot of the steel. It came from Utah.
The '78 Blue Bird I bought in 1985 had rust through around both rear wheel wells. It was from somewhere back East.
Go figger'.

No wheel well rust here .... BAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!

Critize if you wish but I didn't dare tear the floor down to the metal. Too much time and $$$$ to fix all the issues I'm SURE are down there. I put the thin foam underlayment under the snap-together flooring and pretended like none of the rest was down there and all was well

OH, that wire wheeling is a miserable job. I wasn't going to do mine but I couldn't stand it. I was drawn to it like a moth to flame; I had too. I couldn't bear the thought of NOT doing it.
I think its like a "right of passage" or something cruel and sinister like that

Porkchop did it to his bus and I didn't want a 19 year old to show me up.

Hey gusbus, it was way easier than getting the rubber up.

Re: The Journey Visvi 1999 Thomas MVP ER
Good on you bamper for sticking to your principles on that one. I was going to do it too but the plywood was in such rough shape I succumbed to the task and, alas, went all the way with it. My first mistake was tearing up the rubber
Should not have gone even that far
You know the old saying, " If you don't want to know what's in the trash can, don't open the lid!"
