Re: THOUGHTS ON A DIFFERENT SKOOLIE

There is nothing like knowing the full history, and being the one who actually took care of the bus! Sounds like a match made in heaven for you! It sounds like it has juice brakes instead of air brakes. If so, what has been your experience with juice brakes? I always hear that the Girling juice brakes are not all that great when it comes time for work or parts.

Re: THOUGHTS ON A DIFFERENT SKOOLIE

wasn't it pretty much just ford that used those wierd hydraulic wedge brakes in the 80's/early 90's?

I had juice brakes on a bus i drove for 30K miles, and i didn't have any complaints.....except that i couldn't run my air tools! I drove that bus from Michigan to nevada and back 3 times. In frigid climates, hydro brakes are less problematic than air brakes.
