Tile

So it’s 10:00 pm and I’m still in the bus. Got the countertop mounted and cut out last night and got the tile installed today so just sitting around having a cocktail waiting to give it one more wash. The tile is stainless steel capped on a porcelain tile base. I chose this for looks and as a heat shield as there will be a Dickinson solid fuel stove on that wall. The tiles are a small format and set in Flexbond crack prevention thin-set mortar. This was put on over a Schluter uncoupling membrane on the pantry wall and the backsplash. Hoping this with reduce the chance of any cracks developing on the road. Click image for larger version

One more wash and one more whiskey and it’s good to go for grout tomorrow.
Cheers

Thanks much, never would have picked these tiles knowing how difficult they would be cutting to a round ceiling but it's what the wife wanted.
Cheers

The countertop is pre made laminate from Home Depot. Finished on both sides so you have a choice, stainless look on one side and concrete look on the other with a stainless edge as well. I went with the concrete side up and am pretty happy with how it look as far as laminate design goes.

That does look great! I know it is hard to cut those tiles. I have a similar setup that goes straight up behind my cooktop and range hood. I believe you are correct in those helping deflect some heat.

Oscar those tiles look sharp with the countertop and stainless sink. Nice material picks.

Thanks guys! Pretty happy with how it turned out. Got the grout in and cleaned up today and started putting the cabinets back together. Hopefully will get to building on the vanity this week.
Cheers
