Sure! Here's the underside of my diverter. The pipe is just superglued into it under the flange. I bent it a little so it would go straight down into my jug (since the hole is at an angle). I used little nuts and bolts to attach it to the wooden lid - the bolt heads are just under the toilet seat. I ran a bead of caulk along the other end, but I'm not sure it really matters. I don't expect to pee so much that it overflows my diverter!

The rim from the top of my sacrificial bucket has a curve carved out of it to support the diverter. This also has the added benefit of locking a plastic garbage bag into place to make disposal of my compost a bit easier.

Here's a shot looking from the back of the toilet towards the front to show how it sits in there.

Before and...

After!

I’ve been busy fighting the rust throughout the whole bus, and that includes the part underneath that’s been exposed to 30 years of salty road slush. It’s taken a lot of hot, dirty work to get this far, but it’s almost ready for primer. I know there's still a little visible rust in the after photo, but I've hit it with the heavy duty wire wheel on my grinder, sprayed it with phosphoric acid, wirebrushed it by hand, and given it a gentle sponge bath with an auto cleaner/degreaser.

Here’s one of my lovely assistants, modeling the sexy PPE we used when grinding rust under the bus. As you can imagine, this gets pretty warm in the Georgia heat, but it beats getting rust and grime in your eyes/nose/ears/hair/mouth/bra/etc.

On another positive note, I ordered my steel for the roof raise today, and should have twenty-six 36" lengths of 2" channel ready to pick up tomorrow. The plan is to get it raised this weekend. Hooray!

That's impressive rust removal. About the most cleaning I'll do down there is pressure washing.

I already used up all my OCD getting the foam carved down so I could put in an interior.

My frame actually still has paint on it with still readable grease pencil makings. I should give it a car wash. I'm pretty sure this bus won't rust out before I do.

Yep! I got a welding lesson!!! It's so fun! We're just about ready to make the first cut. Waiting for hubby to return with some clamps.

The triumphant feeling is real, until you stand back and consider how much more there is to go. It's all worth it.

Supports are going in. We changed methods a little and that's helping it go a bit faster.

Here's what we did with the front. There's plenty of room for a sleeping loft up there now. Also, the back doorway is finally tall enough that I don't bump my head! Yay!

Your trees are already leafed out. Ours are just starting to bud.

Nice ! Looks great ! Did you drill the rivets out for the front cap ? If I lift my roof I'll have to release the front in the same fashion. Glad you went the route of lifting the whole roof !

Nope, we cut just in front of the rivets, leaving the support attached to the roof that we lifted. That way, when we reskin the front panel, we'll have some nice sturdy channel to attach to. We'll shore up those front two ribs with more steel supports, but they are a different size than the hat channel used throughout the rest of the bus, so I need to pick up some different sized steel. Luckily, there is a really cool place called "Metal Supermarket" about 10 minutes from my house - they have all sorts of shapes and sizes of metal, and they cut it to length for you and everything.

I love it!
What are you using for the rib extensions? Sorry if you've already mentioned that, I can't recall.
