When I was in elementary school I built a big school bus out of legos just to surprise my bus driver. It was the flat nose type with a long rear overhang, resembling a 1980's model Bluebird FE All American. It had this white roof, working doors and steering--the works. So I've always kind of loved busses. Now I'm a truck driver (surprise) and I want to build my own skoolie. I know about the different engine manufacturers and transmissions and gear ratios, etc so it's not foreign to me. I have noticed, however, that the Bluebirds are more sought after and other bodies are not. The other brands are often cheaper to buy and more readily available. Can anybody enlighten me as to why this is? Maybe something I haven't learned yet?
I would love to find something from my childhood days...the longgggg Bluebird All American FE with the quad round stacked headlights and the white tri-spoke steering wheel, but in months of searching classifieds I have yet to see a single survivor for sale anywhere. Anyways, happy motoring y'all
keep the greasy side down and antennas in the wind.
