First page missing on older threads

I'm not sure why, but every time I open up an older thread, it doesn't open on the first page. It's kind of frustrating because there's a lot of potentially useful information that's missing.

Much has been lost between server changes, mod changes and ownership changes.

Ah, I see. Too bad, many times the first page of a thread contains the pertinent information, and pages 2 on contain impressions and opinions. These can be valuable too, but often lack technical information. I guess I'll just add a new reply to the threads and see if anyone has the original info or pictures.

Can you post some examples? Maybe we can figure out what is going wrong...?

Example: a skoolie sauna? I've started posting on this thread in the hope of finding older info.

I took a look at that thread and think that's all there is. one of several things may have happened... the thread may have been split-off from another discussion by a moderator into it's own topic or possibly split and then the older topic removed or deleted. Years ago, the old site owner may have removed some topics to save server space. We don't do that now but sadly there is no way to restore that old info.

I've seen that many times on older threads. I went back to read all the shorty topics from 'the beginning' and most didn't have early thread material.

Sigh, well that's to bad, oh well. Not quite the loss of the library of Alexandria, but still a loss. Sometimes one little hint of how someone else did something can open up a huge door on designing and building something. Thanks everyone for your information.
