Re: How to make this site better.

My thoughts are it is pretty good the way it is now and why change a good thing. Myself I don't see any reason to complicate it more. If you feel the need to do anything, don't add any opening video on the main page if you are to have a main page again and try and stay away from a page that resembles mycokerewards.com As it loads up slow and has poor response.

Your site right now is easy to use and I think most of us like it that way.

Re: How to make this site better.

Is this not good enough, it is a sticky on the top of this forum on how to add pictures.

How to add photos to the gallery.

Pretty much what I think too, Steve! You've done a remarkable job providing this playground for us! Thanks!

Re: How to make this site better.

Steve,

I can't think of anything that needs improving, I think the site is great.

Steve this site is easy to use, to post, and to read. The only thing I might think of is a list of links like you used to have (I know that there is a list on one of the permanent posts). I know that it's hard to maintain, but it could be helpful to newbees.

Just my two cents.

Robert

No seriously.... Do I need to improve this page on using the gallery or is it easy enough to walk through?

Re: How to make this site better.

Is it possible to make the gallery searchable by username? I know specific pictures of specific stuff by specific users that would be great to reference, but it can be a pain to find sometimes.

Thanks Steve.

BTW, this site is fantastic and the work that you have put into the site shows. Of any group, Skoolie.net is the easiest to search, use, and join. The Moderators rarely interfere and when they do, it's because it's well justified.

You've got one hell of a site and don't let anyone else tell you different.

Thanks,

Robert

P.S. Others are just jealous and envious of what you have created.

Re: How to make this site better.

I have very little to add to improve the site. As a newbie, I have to say it's got just about everything the noob needs.

One thing that might be fun, though, would be to add something like a google map or some such so that users could post where they are and where they are going so that if we run across each other at festivals and such, we can admire each other's projects.

My game plan's to be on the road next summer, and I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for other forum members.

I can't remember the name of the site for the life of me, but there is such a map in existence somewhere in the cyber world. I don't think many members have updated it for a while, but I know I'm a waypoint on it.

Re: How to make this site better.

Cool! Thanks.

If I can think of any new ideas, I'll pass them on. So far, I think it's fair to say this site has saved me a lot of time and money by giving me ideas I would have never thought of on my own.

Fixed, thanks for pointing that out, I forgot that Windows doesn't like tiffs.

Re: How to make this site better.

I don't know if it's my browser (Firefox) or what, but it seems I have to log in almost every time I go to check new messages. Anyone else having this problem?

I don't think it's the computer because it happens if I'm on my desktop or my laptop. I even check the keep me logged in box and it still does it... seems to have just started doing this in the past week or so.

I noticed I've had to log in every time this past week as well. I also use Firefix 3.0.3.

Re: How to make this site better.

I actually ended up doing a full, clean re-install of Firefox 3 and have had no issues since. Note that I had to nuke all my old settings or the problems were just the same (on my non-clean install just before the clean one ...)

I run another phpbb board and had the same problem on both. Even clearing the cache (both on my machine and the server) did nothings, hence I diagnosed it as a Firefox issue ...
