I received a PM and replied to it twice but the Notifications 1 is still present and I don't see anything in my PM's sent box so I don't think I can reply to PM's. And why doesn't the Notifications 1 disappear after reading the PM?

I still have Notification1 and unread PM although I have read it and tried to reply but it still doesn't work. Is there something I'm not doing wrong?
