Post editing

The little wrench icon is no longer there to edit my posts that have grammar or spelling issues. What's the deal?

Anti trolling measure. You can't edit after 90 mins.
We used to have a gnat that would say HORRIBLE things then edit it later.

Posts can be edited for a while after they are made to fix typos and add additional thoughts. After the edit button disappears you can ping a moderator if you need an assist.

Pity, I prefer my other forums where someone like that gets banned -- MUCH more useful to the group.

*Also MUCH MORE useful to the group would be the ability for the member to edit/delete misinformation they've posted...

If I learn I gave bad info I want the ability to edit it!

Hope the moderators consider this...

I think its a nice measure. You can always just quote your incorrect info with the amended info.
It breaks up the flow when someone changes a year old post. Makes for a hard read.

That would be interesting if we could edit all of our posts. If someone makes fun of your typo you could correct it and the "fun" goes away. I could imagine it would be strange to see unedited replies to an erroneous post following a "corrected" post.

I like it how it is. We do have enough time to make changes as needed.

I do half my writing going to sleep. I don't see the horrors till I'm looking at responses sometimes.

Just boot them. I can sign up with ten different sock puppet names and accounts and say nasty things to people. You give people one drunken or whatever inappropriate or personal jab then goodbye permanently.

My experience has been that when someone makes an error in a post that ends up saying the exact opposite of what they meant and are corrected, never go back and fix their mistake. Makes them look totally unwilling to better themselves.
