Open a hotmail account. That should work. It takes about two minutes.

Since you registered under someone elses email...since you are registered you can change your email to what ever want under your profile(i had to do the same thing)

Post an ad in the classifieds section of the forum. Or your local Craigslist.

Good luck

Re: registering with skoolie.net

Hi,
I just registered here at Skoolie.net. And like the OP, found that registration wouldn't accept my preferred google email address. Then I tried to register with a seconday gmail.com account which I also maintain. -- No Dice!

Ok... so I then was able to get registered with yet a third email account I use -- But it wasn't a 'gmail address' the third time --> Presto! No problem.

So my questions are thus:
1) Is there some reason that Skoolie.net won't accept google email addresses?
2) Another user here suggested changing addresses after successful registration was accomplished. But if gmail addresses aren't allowed (for whatever reason).... then wouldn't a change to a gmail address (after the fact) be a somewhat subversive act?

Just curious...

Re: registering with skoolie.net

Hey Edbus..... Welcome aboard the bus........

Other that Google tracking you and the cookies that follow with Google I really have no ideal why.... I too have a gmail account but had to use my MSN account to get onboard here, maybe security settings at Skoolie.net or your computer......... ever notice everytime you google something the next day you get 15 emails on the subject??? I quit using google and switched to opera, firefox, msn and comodo.
trying them all to see which I prefer.....

Re: registering with skoolie.net

I believe the reason that you cannot initially sign up with those account types is that spammers use those accounts quite a bit. By requiring people to sign up with a different email, they block all of the spam from that sector. Once you have established yourself as a real person, you can change to one of these email addresses.

Re: registering with skoolie.net

Thanks for the welcome GreyEagle -- yeah I agree, Google is without question a bit intrusive and pushy. Used to ruffle my feathers for quite a while too.
But I woke up one morning and looked at myself in the mirror ~ and I noticed all them gray whiskers!!
--- I figger'd right then and there that it's probably just easier to ride the horse in the direction it's goin' -

Ok gotcha RainbowBoxer ... if there's no demerits for changing to my main gmail addy, then I'll do that. ~Although a couple ladies I know might argue with the suggestion that I'm an established real person! -- Thanks!

Re: registering with skoolie.net

Follow up ---

FWIW -- Skoolie.net still doesn't seem to like gmail.com email addresses. At least it won't let me change mine to my preferred gmail address.

seems that crazy horse I'm ridin' likes to take an occasional 'detour' for no obvious reason every now and then.

... oh well.

Re: registering with skoolie.net

There are a couple people on the "SKOOLIEconversions" Yahoo group trying to register...they can't. It won't accept Yahoo or Gmail addresses.

They are johnennis72ATyahooDOTcom, cobbybuscamperATyahooDOTcom, and josephedwardheckmanATgmailDOTcom. Can anyone help them?

Re: registering with skoolie.net

skoolie.net accepted my rocketmail.com (yahoo) address with no problems (a while back). Or has that changed?

I don't have an ISP provider.

But you are already a member....
A while back?---? Yahoo was bought out by MSN I think and now they are a lot like Google. The new yahoo email addy's are @ YMAIL.COM something like this name here @ ymail.com
