thanks
After cruising around some other the other forums, including schoolbusnuts on yahoo, i've come to realize how wonderful your site is. I am so sick and tired of advertisments !!!
Thanks for such a wonderful site.

That's the reason I created it.
The Yahoo group has a lot of members but there are some big downfalls:
1. Advertisments
2. The information and pictures are only available to logged in members.
3. There is no organization: There is a lot of good information but you have to search pretty hard to find it. Also I don't like how the messages are not threaded.
4. If you ask a question that has been discussed before they get all pissy. Not mention only 10% of the even HAVE a bus.
5. They ran out of room in the pictures section and had to start putting pictures in the files section. Plus Arky would yell at people for posting large pictures and not fixing them himself.
Hope you guys like it, and I hope that we can create a community with some good solid information and help for people wanting to do their own conversion.
Sorry I post so much I'm just trying to make a good foundation so that hopefully people will see this as an active board with good topics :P

arkys going off again over there on the yahoo group. I hope you guys are enjoying the peace over here. I don't know why he gets so worked up about that thing, its not like he has designed it, run it, or spent any money on it.

Hi Steve,
I don't even go there anymore; every time I did I just got po'd about the way he treats people and had to sit on my hands to keep from typing something stupid in reply...I VERY MUCH enjoy the peace and quiet and, most of all, the helpfulness around here.

Re: thanks
Hi Steve,
I thought I'd bump this thread up again and say thanks for such a wonderful Skoolie site.
You have put a lot of work into this site and it shows. It's really ashame that others haven't discovered this site yet and still stick to the yahoo forums.
I really think that this site is better organized, has more information, and it's easier to access photos. I like the freedom that you offer the members and the help that you give. You also don't criticize others that post something dumb (especially me) or accuse them of being troublemakers.
Thank You Steve for the nice place that you have created.
Happy New Years to you and your family.
Robert

Re: thanks
I would not have guessed four years ago that this site would still be so similar to what it was in the beginning. All of the things that I posted I wanted for this board four years ago are still true and I am very happy that I have never had to add advertising to this site.
I hope that all of you will help me continue and broaden this site to make it as useful as possible to the community.

Re: thanks
Steve, I've been a member of numerous skoolie forums and the only one I go to anymore is here.
Steve, this site reflects you, and your love for Skoolies. You share your knowledge, your time, and your money to make this site what it is today, the best darn Skoolie site on the web.
Many thanks to you.
Robert

Re: thanks
Thanks Steve,
This site is definitely the BEST! The friendliness of this site is what made me join. The helpfulness of this site is what made me go ahead and buy a bus to convert. I am continually amazed at what this site has to offer, and because of this site and its wonderful people, skoolie conversion might just be my new hobby. Thanks so much for the great site!

Re: thanks
heck when we bought our bus we had no idea that such forums existed as we began looking around the net for info, the other site came up but was very commercialized i think that this is just the type of thing that bus owners like to avoid. If we all wanted to be the same we would all drive motorhomes! Skoolies are unique and creative! thanks steve and thanks to all that participate on this forum

Re: thanks
Steve, this is the only site I go to and throughly enjoy it and the great job you do of maintaining it. It inspired me to get a bus and convert it and I never looked back. The people here are great, the information great and it's overflowing with wonderful ideas and the knowledge and encouragement from it's members on how to bring those ideas to fruit. Thanks a million for all your hard work. sportyrick
