You are very right, there is a lot of good info here. More and more will end up here as time goes on. This sites membership has been growing. The other site is not very useful anymore since Yahoos search function is not working very well. If you ask a question there that has been asked before they will tell you to look in the archives that don't always work.

Well I discovered that the Nazi must have kicked me off his group. I have been trying to clean up all the junk groups on my Yahoo profile so one less group I have to leave on my own. It will be funny when he has nobody left in his group. This is the best skoolie group on the net for sure. Oh and Arky when you read this, sorry I offended you by playing in the other tree house. Now go cry to your mommy and tell her your feelings are hurt and feel inadequate.

Eric von Kleist, I saw you were kicked today from "the other site". I hope your computer isn't too messed up from that virus

Anywho, although I don't think I would add something to the front of my bus I am intersted in the results of your experiment.

Another one bites the dust

Yep, apparently I was ejected. I shouldn't have said the "J" word so much (Jeep.) Oh well.....

NOT!

Now that I think about it. throughout my life the word that I have heard used most frequently in conjunction with "cajun" is crazy....and running a really close second is "that damned".....

I'm continuing to test the air dam. Looks like I'm getting somewhere between 10% and 15% increase in mileage depending on the speed I drive. For an investment of $20 or so and an day's labor, that will be a pretty good return over time. I don't think I can do much more than tinker with it at this point. Perhaps I could build a more refined one out of fiberglass.

The next project though is to tackle the back end.

As soon as I have some results there I'll let you know!

It's been a while since people have complained about getting banned from the other site. When this thread was first started, there was a number of us that had just gotten or were about to be banned from arky's group.
Since that time, I was beginning to think arky came to his sences and decided to be a kinder less psychotic person to help retain members. Perhaps he was just hibernating instead.

Paranoia

I just got an e-mail from someone who said that Arky is claiming that he "got a virus from me", and that's why he banned me.

He's paranoid, at least. I use a corporate owned computer that has regular anti-virus signature file upgrades. I only posted to that site through the web, not through e-mail. I can't recall ever having e-mailed him directly, and certainly not in the last 48 hours. I uploaded two photos to the website, and I don't know of any way to put a virus in a .bmp or a .gif or a .jpg, so I doubt that would be the source of any virus.

'Course, now if you wanted to try not to look like a puckered rectum, and if you wanted to try to make a temper tantrum look justifiable, then it might make sense to make a claim such as that.

Just got elected

I am now the proud recipient of the "booted from skoolieconverternuts" award of the week for daring to suggest that the owner is not complying with the rules of yahoo. I suggest we all email Yahoo groups with complaints about his "defamatory and vulgar" remarks, and have the entire group deleted.

Welcome to the club!!!

Welcome to the club!!!

I know how you feel, but....really, it's not worth the effort.....besides, over the long run he's probably one of the best recruiters there is for this group!

Ah!

LOL! now I see why I got such a wonderful and complete response to my "Wood Stove" post!

I joined this group last week, about a month after joining "the other site", and I must say I like the climate over here much better!

Cheers y'all!

Jake.

Jake ...wanna hear a funny thing?
That woodstove info on my site so enraged Arky that he deleted all my posts ...then booted me out.
What a dick head that guy is

Plus I have to say that lots of the folks over there are pretty much fellow dickheads...
Somebody emailed me recently telling me of a post over there asking how would someone install a direct vent propane furnace in their bus.
About 20 folks over there know my site has the installation info on how to do this w/pics...but they’re too afraid to mention my website.
So the poor guy was left hangin in the wind.
Yikes...people can be such babies !

I'll have to ad that I am glad i found this bunch of losers 1st. I strongly resent huge ego's. I have had to deal with one elsewhere (except his ban did not hold up :P ) This here is a swell sight. no need to hate the guy though. he has enough hate and resentment for all of us. let him have his hate, and run with it.

Hi everybody,

It looks like it's happened, the other site's posting has slowed to a trickle. It could be that no one as anything to say, or Arkie has angered enough people that no one wants to post.

Maybe, Arkie will read this post and mend his ways.

Has anyone been watching the "other site" recently. All hell has been breaking loose and Arky has mostly been the root of it.

I used to converse with Ben Rosander a bit till I was kicked off. And in fact I have always posted his book deals here. I think he is a member and I would love to see him be more active here. I beleive I offered to him to be my first moderator but he sided with the "other site"

I think his knowledge and experience in conversions could be a big help to some people.

One of the biggest reasons I was drawn to this forum was the extraordinary amount of SHARED information.

I had seen the "other site" from the outside, but being one who tries to "look before he leaps" (yeah, and I bought a skoolie...go figure...) I was able to visit as an unregistered guest to see the massive amount of knowledge and experience, both good & bad, that Skoolie.net has, and how open the members are, joined, and just never looked back. Then I read of what was going on "over there" and was doubly glad I joined THIS forum!

I hope that one day, I can actually post stuff from my s-l-o-o-o-o-w conversion that will be any bit as helpful to others as this site has been to me.

Thank you, Steve, for providing us with such a great, wide-open place to gather!

I only visited there a couple times because I could never find anything in their version of a forum. It was a mess and when I posted it took a couple days for him to put it up after reviewing it. By the time I got an answer it was weeks later and I had found this site. I never went back.

The membership shows he has 1793 members. However I wonder how many are actually active. I doubt many have visited a second time. I have a bunch of Yahoo group memberships that I used once and will probably never visit again. I am betting a lot of people joined so they could ask a question or two and never bothered to leave the group. I am glad I am no longer involved with that mess of a group. Between Hitler that runs it and the yahoo limitations/popup ads I would go nuckin futs.

FYI: Ben Rosander started a new group earlier this week, he has had hundreds of members move from the "other site" to his in just the last four days. Unfortunatly Arky banned everyone, including me, who joined Bens new group.

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/sKOOLieConversions/

I suggest everyone cancel their account at the "other site" if you still have and join Ben's group as everyone has, or will soon, move there.

I've been banned at least three times from schoolbusconversionnuts now!
