Tough time posting pictures today
Hey Y'all,
I've tried to attach a couple pictures in 2 or 3 threads here today but after many attempts, I could only get 1 to load up.
All of the pictures were .jpeg files and all were under the 2.00 mb limit. After every attempt, I got a "error 504 Time Out" or "Database error The School Bus Conversion Resources database has encountered a problem."
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hey there 2 cool,
Are you part of the administration here? The error messages told me to reach out to administration.
I'm glad you were able to get it to work. I still can't.
Today, I can get it occasionally to load ONE picture ... but not everytime and never more than one picture. http://www.skoolie.net/forums/f13/le...ing-14252.html
Never had the problem before.

Most of us find it easier and more direct to use a photo hosting service like Imgur or PhotoBucket to host our pics, and then just embed URLs to the pics within the message. There's a finite amount of space (per month?) available for such things on the server that hosts skoolies.net and doing it the way I described doesn't use up any of that space (so it's free!).

Ok I need help with imgur.
I haven't posted before because I never wanted to do the windows update but I did yesterday just to be able to use imgur or photobucket.
Can't say that I am happy with the update but I have imgur now and have played with it.
My few bus pic's are on a clipboard in imgur so how do I get them to the skoolie album, profile type stuff? I ain't stupid just tech. Challenged?
Any thoughts?

See full size-
You copy the link from Imgur (right-click then copy), and paste (right-click then paste) into the Skoolie text box. These instructions apply to most other forums out there

Don't get pissed at me for acting dumb I don't use computer anything very often and when I do it is an iPad.
I got my pics as far as a clipboard on imgur now how do I get them from there to the skoolie site with an iPad? No right click and when I hit copy or paste imgur went nowhere so I ended up on a clipboard.
I tried using one pic to update my skoolie profile and it didn't work.
Been on the skoolie site for awhile and the whole pic or it didn't happen has bothered me cause I never could?
A little more guidance please or it will be awhile for me to figure it out on my own.

Yeah I am not sure about these non functioning features in skoolie.net. I think the work around thru imgur or photobucket is created to expose you to more adds and create more clicks, so more revenue for someone.
The limited space issue cannot be it because there is no problem uploading pictures to skoolie album. Skoolie does not allow its own album pictures to be linked ?????
My work around. Upload to skoolie album... select image and click copy.... hit past in your message...
The image is small, the same pixel size as the thumbnail in skoolie album.
If you want you can go back in album and copy the link location.... then select the insert link and past the link.
When you select the link in the message it shows you the image in skoolie album.
The link appears in blue in your message , ( if you do it right)

I have to add that the link in blue gets a different color after you post it. In the new post the link turns red to show you that it is active and it leads you to full size image in skoolie album, or probably wherever the link refers to.

Thank you moderators / site maintenance. Suddenly the ph tos from skoolie album can be copied and pasted into a thread at large size.
Not sure what happened but it works good for me.
Great Job.

The price is right...
I'm happy with what I pay
I know someone's footing the bill for this forum, and it's not always cheap with hosting services, photo storage, etc.

It has always been ridiculous all you have to go thru to get a picture on here. Many, many sites I visit all I have to do is pull up a picture, copy it & paste it to the site. Why is it sooooo difficult here? I would love to show off what I have been doing but not if it's going to have me standing on my head with one arm facing east & the other facing south while I cross my eyes to git it dun!
