Re: Website Upgrades
I haven't tried that feature yet, will give it a try the next time I send up a picture (I just got done posting some pics too)
I do have a problem with the pages loading, this new format looks really great, but the pages are painfully slow to load. I typically run 2 browsers at once and visit 2 forums simultaniously.... I can load 4 or 5 pages on my forum, or over at rv.net in less time than I can get this one load a single page. And from what I can tell, it's not actual load time, it seems to be slow response time.
Is anyone else experiencing this or just me? I know it's not my system as the other sites are loading fast like they always have...

Re: Website Upgrades
It might just be me adapting, but it feels like it's gotten faster for me. I use the subsilver display and come in directly to the forum, not through the main page.

Re: Website Upgrades
Is the board faster now? I turned off Session IP and IP Blackhole checking and I think that may have been what was slowing it down.

Re: Website Upgrades
No noticeable increses on my end. I'm doing some tweaking to my browser to see if that may help over here. This upgrade DOES have a lot of nice features, though!

Re: Website Upgrades
No difference here, and today I'm on the work computer which is cable modem instead of the EVDO that I normally use... still really slow.

Re: Website Upgrades
Steve, it appears that the issue I had with this new version showing EVERYTHING as a new post has cleared up, too! Now it really does only show the new posts since my last visit, just like it used to pre-upgrade. Sadly, it still loads slowly, but I can deal with that!
Thanks for the great playground, and all your efforts!
By the way, if you ever DO put up a PayPal button, I'm there!

Re: Website Upgrades
I don't know if the slow loading is causing you to loose visitors or not. I still visit, but to be totally honest, I don't read all the thread like I used to do. It just takes too long for the pages to load. I can go through 14-15 pages at PUX, HYX, or RV.net in the same time I can look at 3 pages here... I get frustrated waiting for things to load, and just read a few things then move along. Though like the new look, I really miss being able to read all the threads, and that translates into I really miss the old board!!

Re: Website Upgrades
The download speed for me wasnt too bad, actually pretty decent for a while. Until last night. then the download speed went WAY down. So slow, I almost fell asleep waitin on the page to load. I also used to read all of the threads until the change. Thought you might want to know.

Re: Website Upgrades
I agree, this site has gotten too slow for me to read the posts as much as I used to...
I hate to bitch about a free service. But I miss the old skoolie.net so much, I'd even gladly pitch in if it helps make the site faster.
