Exclamation Yellowstone CLOSED, All Gates - Flooding, Mudslides

The park has been temporarily closed at all gates due to flooding and rock slides. No inbound visitor traffic will be allowed into the park until conditions stabilize and the park can assess damage to roads and bridges and other facilities. This includes visitors with lodging and camping reservations.

Whoa, it must be pretty bad to close the whole park. Thanks for passing this info along.

I would have agreed with that 20 or 30 years ago. These days, not so much. They close entire forests and other public lands to the public any time the government "shuts down" (which actually is never but that's what they call it). Because they must have sufficient "minders" to keep an eye on the masses.

Looks pretty legit, according to the NPS link. Doesn't sound like a secret government shutdown......this time (or is it? duh duh duh)

.
Some say the park closed because of rain.
Others wonder about tectonic plates and the overdue 're-alignment'...

A former employer of my wife's had a canceled flight out there from FL. Then she drove out. She got there and found out the hard way its a disaster.
Sounds like quite a hell of a flood out there!

Wonder how many of those homes (aka hotels) floating away are airbnbs?

I hope all of them. Extra smiles if they don't have flood insurance.
