1 1/2 or 3 in waste drain

I have a rather odd setup involving my waste tanks. My black tank is on the right side, under the toilet, goes to a macerator pump , then feeds to the gray tank on the left side. And yes, the idea actually works (so far).
The black will only dump to the gray while emptying the system.
My question is should I still use a 3 in dump or can I get away with the 1 1/2 dump.? It will still terminate to the 3 in fitting for using the 3 in dump hose.
I would like to use the 1 1/2 dump valve but concerned about clogging etc.

A 1.5 should work if your using a macerator to pump out the black. I have seen that setup on someone else's build. Get one of those elbows that let's you hook up water to the outlet to back wash the gray tank, and don't pump into the gray tank until you are dumping.

either size will work. i'd stick with a 3". the faster the tank dumps, the more complete the dump is.
