1995 Ford 65-passenger B-series bus

I've found a 1995 Ford B-series 66-cap Thomas bus w/Cummins 5.9L and Allison trans. Its got 159k miles, starts and runs great, good tires, and no rust. Ive drove it before as an employee. I would like to convert it. Is $1800 a good price for it? Thanks in advance

Sounds like a good deal to me. SURE beats paying ten or twenty g's at a stealership!

Thanks for your reply! This bus was used as a spare in my county before they retired it last year. I've driven it several times on my route in the past 2 years. They retired it because it is too long for most of the turn-arounds in this area. I was told that it has several new parts on it. It is still in the local school bus garage lot and is being sold locally as-is.

What do you think is the top speed on this bus without governors?

With governor i can get 78mph at about 2500-2800 rpm. Go get that bus. Look to see what tranny. Either an AT545 pr Mt643. No matter the tranny go get it.

Well I went ahead and bit the bullet and bought the 1995 Ford bus! I got to drive it for about 30 miles before I bought it. With the 45 mph governed bus limit speed, it seemed like it had no problem accelerating up to about 50 mph before the fuel shut off. I'm sure it would have run faster. Brakes are a little touchy on those Fords but the air system is working fine. The only thing that I noticed with it was that the engine seem to vibrate a little more at the highest RPMs. I cant give an exact RPM since it doesn't have a tach. Any ideas on why it seems to vibrate more at full pedal? Is this normal for a 5.9L Cummins. Motor mounts? BTW it is an AT545 tranny. Thanks again folks!
