2 motorcycles at the back

Hi folks,

we'll be starting soon to convert our Thomas C2 2008!

To keep our mobility, we want to carry our two motorcylces inside, at far end of the bus (the garage will be the last 8 or 9' of the bus).

The motorcycles weight about 550lbs each (a V-Strom 650 and an Africa Twin)

But I was wondering if the weight of the bikes is too much at the back of the rear wheels... any ideas?

Cheers,

Jo

Check the GVWR for each axle and get weighed. That's the way to be most certain.

I _really_ doubt the weight would be a problem. How many of the original seats fit in the space you're using for the bikes? Take an average kid weighing idk, 80lbs? Times two kids per seat, in that space. Looking at my bike ('17 Kawasaki Concours 14), if I had two in the cabin there's no way its taking up less than 6 seats of space, so that's 12 kids * 80lb = 960lb. You're already within ~150lb of what you're worried about. Not to mention the weight of the seats themselves you removed, backpacks/gear etc, and the fact that school buses are way overbuilt...

And you have dually in the back...

Bus won't even notice em back there much. Think of the body weight of a few rows of high school football players. they weigh more than those bikes.
