2000 international?

I'm looking at a 2000 international re full-size, dt530e and a mt3060. Looks like decent tires has a quarter million miles

Any thoughts? It's not a rare model, someone has to have one, likes dislikes?

PS auction ends in a couple hours

The DT530 is not all that common. It does have a good reputation along with its siblings (DT360 and DT466).

Coupled with the MD3060 it will be a great highway and mountain bus.

Miles are a bit on the high side. There are plenty of buses on the road with 300k+ miles but as mileage goes up so does the likelihood of needing repair.

If its not rusty GO FOR IT. That's a killer drivetrain.

How much did it go for? How far would I have had to go?

If anyone sees a running DT530 bus for sale under 4 grand I don't even care if its rusted. I'm looking for a 530 to swap for the 466. I'm insane, but that's what I'm looking to do.
I'd rather buy a whole running bus than just an engine. I've got a place to take it apart.

Man the Phoenix area just sold like 8 of them

The ones with 3060s went 2500-3000
Ones with 643 went a bit lower

I could have but it's hard on the budget with an oil change and fuel for all them miles and flights and hotels.

I'd rather wait and end up with more to spend on converting

If its Phoenix, its probably as rust free as it gets. That drivetrain on a rust free bus would be REAL expensive at a dealer.

I'll bet AAA Bus Sales will have some listed soon.

I feel ya on the budget. I'm not rich myself. I just go for it sometimes when these kinds of unicorns pop up.

Me- I'd rather spend the money on the bus, and then built it out as I can. But we all have different wants and needs.

Bus hunting IS fun and addictive!

I could change the oil for around $40. fuel is the worst cost.
Some newspaper over a few windows and its easy enough to sleep a night or two in the bus at truck stops. I stayed in a decent crack motel for $30 and some change in McDonnough GA on my way home from KY with a bus. lol

Bus wore me out. Atlanta in a bus is a nightmare.
Why I insist on a REALLY powerful bus nowadays.

you dont drive nearly as fast in a bus as you do in a car... I roadtrip LOTS.. have done a ton of car miles and run my busses on 3000 mile roadtrips (round trip).. and I can say that after you run about 500-600 miles in a bus you will be tired.. and whether a bus will go 75-80 or not, you will burn a **TON** of fuel driving one at that speed.. 55-60 can save you 30% fuel over 70+ MPH..

you definitely want to stop and rest-break alot in a bus..

The want for higher attainable speeds is due to the lack of ability to merge or maneuver through Atlanta traffic.

I don't think I skipped a single rest area the whole drive back.

I have a 40’ 2001 Amtran with a 530 and 3060. Just over 130k miles. She’s in the middle of conversion so she doesn’t get driven much right now. She runs very very strong though.
