2004 towing questions
I知 looking at a conventional 8 window with a dt466. With a automatic Transmission needless to say.
My question being towing a car with it. It would be a Kia Soul manual or a Meyers type buggy.
How well would the skoolie accomplish this task.
Would the brakes and transmission hold up.
Of course a buggy weights less than 2000#. Kia a little more.
I知 not sure which transmission is in the bus I知 looking at as a on line auction.
Bus has 190k so they say.
And I知 not opposed to going to s 5 or 6 speed manual
Thank You

Transmission choice makes a big difference.
I would not hesitate to tow either of them with a DT466 and an MT643 or 2000/3000 transmission. If it has the AT545 I would be cautious.

Most transmissions are Allisons. They make several models, some desired, some not so much. You need to find out exactly which one it is, if it's an AT545, it won't be good for your application.

Our 11 window bus with DT466 and MT643 transmission drags our 5000lb suv with no problem, so I'm sure you'll be fine. I believe the 2000 series transmission is a solid choice.

8 windows
DT466e
Allison 2000
190k miles....
If you don't buy it, please pm me the sellers contact info.
Back to your original question, yes this would tow a small car with no trouble. I would still be sure to keep an eye on transmission and EGT temps when pulling big hills.

How did you identify the transmission from this picture? Does the AT545 shifter look distinctly different?

Its got OD. Can't be a 545. If you look at the gear selections it has 1,2,4, D. The "D" is overdrive on this one. "4" is 1:1.
