50 Amp inlet plug location?

I'm in the process of installing the electrical in the bus and have a quick question about the location of the inlet socket.

I have installed my PD4560 all in one electrical center just to the rear of the drivers side emergency exit:



Is there anything wrong with locating the plug right behind it (see pic below)? I know that puts the plug high off the ground, but my thinking is that I will have a shorter run to the back of the panel, and I won't be drilling through the floor.

Can anyone see any flaws in my thinking? I haven't drilled the hole yet!

Looks good to me. Maybe rain runoff from roof? But shoot that's a marine inlet you have it should be waterproof.

Mine is about that high, back a bit farther.

Whatever one lacks in inlet socket location, one can make up in shore power cord length! The convention in factory RVs, and thus in established campgrounds too, is that the electrical connection is on the left side near the rear. Your location seems fine, though it might be a good idea to carry at least enough cord to reach from there to a pedestal standing somewhere near your rear bumper.

Thanks for the answers. I figure I will carry a 25-30ft cord and maybe an extension if needed.
