Advice on bus

Hello! I was going to wait a couple of years before buying a bus but I found one that I believe is a good deal. I know I don’t have a lot of details as I am still in communication with the seller. I have seen a lot of people say to only get one through a resale place and not an individual. What are the thoughts on a bus with these details:

2012 International 3000 with Maxforce engine in the front. 71 pax, 78,000 mi.

It is being advertised as $10K, but just said they were motivated to sell and asked is to make an offer

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'd pass. The MaxxForce engines of this age had major issues with the emissions, which can be very expensive when (not if) they need repair. There's a reason it's being sold with low miles!

price too high.. Post 2010 Maxxforce DT's had issues.. if you are bus / engine savvy you can run the computer and see if its showing any past or present errors and run it to see if it will complete a parked regen..

otherwise if not then its a good one to pass-up

I passed on a 2012 Maxxforce bus with 42,000 miles by the advice of the seller. (Local dealer's salesperson in fact) They were asking 10k and were negotiable too. Told me "I didn't want that bus"!

I haven’t found a good solution yet for the post 2010 maxxforce DT...
maxxforce 7 actually did get better as time went on, pistons got updated which stopped the internal destruction .. then it was just the usual egr and oil coolers to replace.. stud it if tuning

Its not one I'd sink any time or money into. Try ten years older.
