Tire life is my #1 priority with all this!
The guys on School Bus Fleet forum seem to think running slightly lower pressures gives better tire life and a better ride, fwiw.

It may have already been said, my apologies if so...

Tire manufacturers provide Load and Inflation information such as this example from Firestone.

You must then inflate your tires (cold) based on the weight they are carrying (in a single or dual configuration). They all have a minimum pressure (as well as maximum). In my experience, the ride is always a bit less harsh at lower than maximum pressure (but at a pressure that is appropriate for the weight).

having come from a background of 4WD vehicles with manual transfer cases.. im all about tire pressures too... it made shift-on-the-fly in a manual transfer case like butter if your tires were set right and even..

I do know somewhat lower pressures give a better ride... for instance this AM its that 45 degrees .. there is an expansion joint series on one of our local freeways that is Brutal in anything but a cadillac.. I noticed this morning when I hit it, it was a LOT smoother than when I hit it the other day where it was 85 outside..

bluebird vantage doesnt show what the factory-recommended tire pressures were and my interior sticker is missing.. similar busses are running 85 PSI cold..

I cant find an inflation table for my samson tires, but some forum posts shiow never below 80.. and the max is 115 cold.. so I think I'll head to the cat scales after fuel up and then base on a similar size and load range tire...
