Amtran recall list

I found a site that lists all recalls for busses.

Bluebird- https://auto-recalls.justia.com/blue-bird///

Thomas-https://auto-recalls.justia.com/international/

Amtran- https://auto-recalls.justia.com/amtran/

Complete list is here-> https://auto-recalls.justia.com/all-...e-makes.html#I

This is the list for mine.
I would be curious to know if the previous school board/ owner fixed these things.

That's interesting, my bus had a body recall:

Quote:
CE MODEL SCHOOL BUSES WHICH FAIL TO COMPLY TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 221, SCHOOL BUS BODY JOINT STRENGTH. THE ROOF TOP SHEET MAY BE IMPROPERLY LOCATED, REDUCING THE MATERIAL EDGE DISTANCE AT THE RIVET LINE.
My bus has an unusual feature where one of the ribs in the center of a roof panel is riveted to the sheet (on every other bus I've ever seen, only alternate ribs underneath the seams between roof panels are riveted). I wonder if this was related to this recall.

Oh, my bus is on that list: PASSENGERS CLOTHING CAN UNKNOWINGLY BECOME CAUGHT IN THE HANDRAILS AT BUS DOORS WHEN EXITING THE BUS.

I think I can deal with this.

This is for my bus, 99 Amtran re

If nothing at all at least this is good troubleshooting information.

Summary:
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: SCHOOL BUSES BUILT WITH BENDIX AIR ABS WITH AN EC-17 1030R ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT "ECU". THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS OF UNWANTED ABS ACTIVATION AT LOW SPEEDS CAUSED BY 1" CHAFED ABS WHEEL SPEED SENSOR WIRES ON ROTATING PARTS OR 2" A DAMAGED COMPONENT AT THE WHEEL END THAT GENERATES A CERTAIN TYPE OF ERRATIC SENSOR SIGNAL.
Consequence:
THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE THE ABS ECU TO EXHAUST THE AIR AT THE AIR BRAKE MODULATORS FOR ONE OR MORE OF THE WHEELS. THIS COULD RESULT IN EXTENDED BRAKING DISTANCES AND A POSSIBLE CRASH.
