Anyone know the length of this bus?

I'm looking for a bus for my wife and 2 kids to live in almost full time. I'll be towing an enclosed trailer containing my workshop and vw bug. So I want a 35'-40' length. I found a prison bus that looks good to me, but I can't tell how long it is. There are pictures of the tags with vin, model, and body style. If it's close to the length I want I will drive down and check it out (5 hour drive). Here is the listing:

Public Surplus: Auction #1450758

What do you guys think? Would it make a good skoolie? I believe the 8.3L engine would be good enough for towing a somewhat heavy trailer.

Most units like that are between 37 and 40 feet.

By running the trans serial number here http://www.allisontransmission.com/p...y-transmission
It shows the MT643 transmission. Good trans, just no overdrive.

However it has 4.78 rear gears to make up for the lack of overdrive.

For reference, My 8.3 powered bus with a MD3060 overdrive trans has a 5.29 gear ratio.

Looks to be in great shape. They don't want a bus full of prisoners breaking down, so repairs were likely kept up to date till the end.

The window bars give you a head start with building a apocalypses bus. Lol.

My bus is a prison bus with same GVW 36200 but heavier front axle and
larger tires 12R-22.5 and small windows. Same year vehicle as this one
but with 3 times the hours. Mine has the MD3060R transmission and 5.38
rear gears. It has 14 windows panels down the side and is 39.5 ft long.
you can see the add for mine by going onto public-surplus.com and put
611712 in the description. Very desirable low mileage unit.
