Anyone know what this switch is?

Hey, folks—

Does anyone know what this switch is, on top of the nine-pin plug.

Thanks!

The round connector is your data port connector. It has a wiring/pinout profile that is pretty much standard.

If you could follow the switch wires and see where it is connects, to what pin positions, someone here might be able to help out some more....

Yeah, sorry, I wasn’t clear enough. I mean the switch on top. I think it’s called a momentary switch—I flip it and it returns to its original position. Any thoughts?

Oh, I see. Sorry. You did answer. I apologize. I’ll trace things once the deluge outside ends.

Why they would put in a momentary switch on the data port wiring..... ???

Once you tell us where the switch wires are going we can begin to try to figure out why.

Also, please fill out your profile so we all can easily see/tell what engine and tranny combo you have.

A replacement for the original momentary switch? What vehicle is this? What do you have attached the the data port?
