attaching wood to stock ceiling

Hello,
I started a new bus build and my initial plan was to pull the stock ceiling, insulate and do tongue and groove. I really like the look of a wood ceiling. I was finally able to get back in to work on the bus today after waiting 12 days for the rustoleum on the floor to dry in the 35 degree weather here. I removed the trim panels where the walls meet the ceiling. I discovered the sheet metal is glued to the ceiling. I wasn't surprised as I've heard this is typical for Thomas. Now i'm contemplating putting 1/4" plywood or tongue and groove over the stock ceiling. I'm not too concerned about the lack of insulation as this will be used as a camper in New York State. 25% of the roof will be covered with a deck and i'll use a mini split to cool. A wood stove and diesel heater will be used when its cold. My current bus has the stock ceiling and a roof deck and I've never had any issues in the heat or when its cold. Have any of you ever installed wood over the stock ceiling? Thanks for any input.
