awning problems

carefree manufactured, wall mount freedom is the model.

Kind of disappointing. Right out of the box. first try, does not roll back up into enclosure.

I am now learning how to make adjustments to the mechanism.

hang my head with embarrassment

Well, operator error. I unrolled the awning so far out the first time, that I was able to roll the fabric up backwards. The very first time. I went back to the manufacturer online owner's manual. I found the troubleshooting chart. One of the things to check is the fabric rolled up the correct direction. It was not.

I still was able to "tune" the mechanism a bit better. I think I have the first one mounted and done. Took about a week of piddling. The second one ought to go faster.

Sometimes I prefer the defective brain over all the other stuff I think isn't working right! Way easier than returning. This happens to me all the time.

I have an awning that came with the bus and I haven't got a clue how it works. Someday I'll get up on a ladder and see how it opens and find out what kind of shape it's in. This isn't a great picture, it goes right to the back side door.

I don't prefer it, but it's all I have.
