Best looking RV color?
Hi, I am about to paint my bus, and I was just wondering what you guys thought would be the best color I could paint that would give me the best chance of getting into an RV park. Ive heard its pretty tough to get into one with a skoolie and I could care less what the color of my bus is. I just want whatever color will give me the best chance to get in. Thanks!

I'd say Multiple neutral tones to look like an conventional RV... Nothing bright or flashy. Tans, dark greens, black accent.

Paint your bus red, white and blue and then question the patriotism of any RV park that dares to keep you out. That's sort of what I did, although I haven't questioned anybody's patriotism yet.

There's no where near enough White and Blue and that Red is ummmm eeeewwwww.... But I like the thought.
We've thought about painting ours with the Marine Corps colors....Navy Blue, India Blue (dress Blues coat) and Blood Stripe red.... toss in the Eagle Globe and Anchor, then the lettering....
U.S. MARINE CORPS NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
Toss in a Marine in Blues with his SNCO Sword and
WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND would DARE........ Note: would preclude travel to such places (that we have no desire to visit anyway) as:
Portland
Chicago
Kenosha
NYC
etc.

I'm presently painting my bus with Rustoleum Almond, partly because it's a bland anonymous RV-ish color if I ever wanted to go into a RV park, partly because Almond has almost as high solar reflectivity as Gloss White, and partly because I can get touch-up paint at any Home Despot. Is Almond the nicest color? Heck no, but it does the job.

The color probably isn't too important. Take a look at "we ain't licked yet". I doubt that with a paint job of that quality and the proper attitude " er" won't get turned down for over night camping (and more). If I think the RV camp I'd like to stay at might not cotton to a skoolie I e-mail them well in advance and include a couple of pics. No sense in getting my tighty whities in a knot--I understand and agree with park owners not wanting derelict school buses messing up their business.

i used to have an old slide in camper for my pickup and when i've encountered rejection from a park, the color of my camper, or my patriotism had little to do with the rejection.
"is your rig older than 10 years? move on down the road please. we have a 10 year age limit." or, in Canada i had a no rvia sticker (or their canuck equivalent) complaint.
rejection hasnt happened in my bus, but im much less likely to try rv resorts now. if you want to park next to a prevost, buy a prevost.

I’m not promoting this site but I wanted to share what I found. An organization that does skoolie certifications!
Link -> skoolie certifications
Only $1320 a year for a diy builder.
Other option, print shop - RVIA sticker - done !

That's almost as bad as the "Certified Organic" scam. $1320/yr for a DIYer

I believe I shall start a certification program. To qualify for the University of Metallurgy and Culture Custom Housing Certification (USMC, CHC) you will need to send pictures of the inside and outside showing all features and plumbing including wood stoves, roof decks, railings, ladders, battery banks, inverters, transfer switches, propane tanks and securement of same, 110/120 volt AC electrical systems including breakers, wiring, and terminations.
If (WHEN) approved, you will be issued a certification sticker with a code of 1, 2, or 3.
Code 1 means that your rig is top notch and fully certified
Code 2 means that your rig is mostly safe
Code 3 means that your rig is scary as all get out but here's your sticker
Codes and their meaning will not be released to any party.
Your certification sticker can be proudly displayed next to the door of your rig and since most low wage employees and even owners of RV parks are pretty much clueless, it will probably be all you need to show them to gain access to their park.
OH yeah...it's gonna cost you.....
$25 bucks okay?

You have a sticker maker I'll be your first customer. Not even lyin'.
Is it possible to bribe the inspector? I'd like a 'code 3' even if our bus doesn't qualify

HamSkoolie's idea, Ross! And a great one I agree!
Honestly - even as a novelty it's solid gold.
If he doesn't do it, I might have to steal it

Well, I shall talk to my graphics guy and ask him "don't you with you'd been in at the ground floor and offered some piddling 1% of a company to do up a logo...... and that company became Apple or Microsoft?
Here's your chance. Might go no where might be the next Apple.
Now, to find a "Certified Organic" set of documents (ya'll do realize that "certified organic" means whatever the "certifying" organization says qualifies right? Same as this. Plagarize, plagar..... I mean copy and paste, everyone does it.
So my business degree and Crim Justice minors finally work together!!!!
