Blower Motors?
Hey All,
We were wanting to keep the two front heaters by the door and by the driver seat. They are the stock heaters. The btu rating on them is insane. 60k and 80 btu's if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure if there are different types of heaters that came stock on these beauties, but they're radiators essentially and air is either pulled or pushed through the fins to heat the air. The one by the door is tip top.We decided to keep the heaters of course after the one by the driver seat spent the last year or so outside unprotected. Needless to say the fan motors are not in the best running condition. I hooked them to 12v and nothing.
The driver side heater has a puller fan to draw air over the heating unit and blow it out the vents and there was a blower fan with a 4" hole for the defroster.
My questions are: where can I find a new replacement for these two? and anyone have any idea how much air these things moved? I'd hate to replace them and not have the same awesome output they had before we set them outside.
We're in the Sacramento area. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Elk Grove actually. I'd be willing to drive to replace 'em though. I remember driving back from Reno in it and it started to snow up over the pass. I turn the valve on the driver side heater and turned the fan on and WOW. You can really tell they over did the heaters to compensate for lack of insulation in these things.

Any 12 volt blower motor out of any car or truck will fit if your handy with tin snips, and know how to connect a few wires.
The original motors were kind of loud. Something like a ford f150 blower may be much less noise.
I would start at the pick and pull myself.

Do you want new blowers?
Try here. You might want to get their catalog. They even have the round diffuser assemblies used on my Blue Bird. Prices don't seem too bad to me.
Oh, and you can also get some body parts.

Thanks a lot guys....and gal. I found a place called a-z bus sales and they have a warehouse not too far from me.
I was looking at blower motors for other cars and either they had a mounting plate in a that would cause the motor not to fit with the fan on it or they were just too expensive ($50 at FLAPS).
Thanks again.

$50 for a new blower is cheap. Do you want used?

I just pulled 5 of the flat ones and 2 squirrel cage motors out of mine yesterday, I'll send u the best one(s) if u pay for shipping. I was going to scrap them, but the prices are SOOO low it's not even worth the fuel.... I know the one for the drivers front slides in, but all the motors should be the same with the exception of the squirrel cages.
I just noticed we basically have the same skoolie!
