Bus road trip

Flying out to El Paso to test drive/buy Excalibrate's tc2000 in a hour or so, hopefully it will appear on conversion projects next week with no excess drama or road trip stories,

I'm bringing my camera, but no real time laptop updates are possible

Our Lady of Blessed Acceleration help me through this one

Peace out

Xtevan

Re: Bus road trip

I am officially a skollie now! Other than adding 6 quarts of oil in Van Horn it was a pretty smooth trip. You can tell how my foot got progressively heavier as the trip progressed

_____Gal___Price___ Total____ Milage _____ m/g ________$/mile

El Paso 25.836___3.319___85.75 - - -
Van Horn 9? ____ 3.5 ___ 31.5_____102.4____11.37 _____ 0.307
Ozona 21.953___ 3.42___ 75.28____ 226.2___10.30 _____ 0.332
Boerne 22.565___3.49___ 78.95____ 175 ____ 7.75 6 _____ 0.451

The counter person in Van Horn gave me a receipt for 20 gallons of unleaded, so the price/gallons is swagged from total on the credit card(I thought it was 8.xx gallons, but have difficulty believing 12 mpg)

That's impressive mileage from a gasser. 427, MT643, 4.xx gears?

*edit* I just read your description. I am a dumbass. What are you doing putting unleaded in a 6BT powered bus?

Re: Bus road trip

I was pretty stressed when the dip stick came up dry, still 400+ miles from home. So I picked a gallon of oil as well as sodas with the fill up, and did not look at the receipt the counter person gave me. I am really wondering what that gallon of oil cost me now. I have the receipts for my next trip back inside to the counter.

Fix speedometer is pretty high on my to do list also.

a cheap (or expensive if you want) GPS may be a fine alternative to fixing the speedo.
