Bus with best interior Headroom

I am seriously looking into doing a bus conversion, but I am 6'5" so in most buses I am crouching. This would be very unpleasant for a bus that I would be spending large periods of time in. Does anyone hknow what bus has the most headroom?

Coach buses that I have seen have more headroom than school buses.

Thats really your only options get a coach or raise the roof.
Growing up I always wanted to be taller but now I am kind of glad I am 6'1" and even then I know its going to be close.

We have a 1975 GMC Carpenter Cadet and it has about 6'8" or so in the center. It is a 7 window so it is short. They come in a few lengths but none are longer than a long step van ,as that is what they are based on. If you want a short one that would be a good way to go.

Good luck! I dont know any skoolies that come stock with enough headroom to allow you to walk freely and still have room to add insulation of any kind.

Get ready to cut some roofs or buy a coach. My bus has 8' ceilings now

Just raise the roof.

Not hard, I don't know why so many people drag their feet trying not to do the best thing to improve a skoolie.

^^^ what he said

that is the single biggest improvement you can do to a bus for long-term comfort and liveability. followed closely by spray foam insulation, new windows, and a place to crap, cook, sleep, and bathe. almost in that order ;)

Roof raise does seem like the best option. Is there a good how to video or guide out there that you know of?

I haven't put one together yet.

My build thread is a good place to start.

http://www.skoolie.net/forums/f11/th...ime-10138.html

There was a member more recently that completed a roof raise, but I would have to look through the build thread section to find it.

In reality, every new member needs to go do some reading in the build thread section. Tons of great idea's, experience, methods, ect.

I would start with the threads over 20 pages long. That will get you passed the builds that got started, but never went anywhere.
