It is Cummins 5.9 engine and it has almost 290,000 miles. Looks like it was used by Advantage rental as an airport shuttle. But I am very far from being an expert in diesel engines so I want to hire a mechanic to do an inspection prior to making an offer.
Apparently the B50 rating for the Cummins 5.9 is around 350,000 miles (this is basically the mileage by which half of the engines will have required a rebuild - so it's similar to life expectancy for humans). By comparison a DT466 has a B50 of 500,000 miles. This bus might not be a good idea.
This is the source of the B50 numbers: https://www.capitalremanexchange.com...ngine-history/
Not sure how reliable this info is, FWIW.
