Buzzing coming from above the drivers seat

The buzzing is coming from the

124-105211 Genuine White Rodgers 12V Coil Solenoid relay

It also gets hot when buzzing.

What is this relay for?

The bus runs with it discounted.

This is a 1998 GMC Thomas 4 window short bus.

Most of the time, these are a buzzer if any doors, emergency exit, or roof hatch windows are open.


I have seen one system where the engine shutting off would trigger anl buzzer until the driver went all the way to the back and pushed a button by the door. This was to ensure that they checked the bus before leaving..

There is a separate buzzer for the back door. This buzzer just started in the middle of a trip.
