Is it unfortunate or can they be adapted for use on the bus? Holding tanks for fresh or gray water using stars to mount to the underside?

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I am trying to locate the square 50 gallon carwash soap drums to use as tanks for two reasons. They are easier to mount than the round ones and they are much less expensive than new factory made tanks.

If I cannot find the square ones then I will probably go with the round 55 gallon drums.

Well that certainly answered my question. Would 30 gallon tanks be too small. How long does 30 gallons of water last for you experienced schools? I spoke to the soap drum manufacturers and they had never heard of one.

Has anyone besides you acknowledged ever seeing a square soap drum. I Never have, nor could I find one in any advanced internet search.

This is as close as I could get to one, but it won't work for this application. Interesting idea though.

I remember reading that thread. If I remember correctly they were searching for the square soap tanks but weren't actually able to get them. They settled on agricultural tanks, then someone posted a link for square tanks that were reasonably priced. Shipping charges were more than tank costs at times.

Some of us have used up our rememberers. I call that fuzzy logic.

Here's their website. Maybe you can direct me to the square drums?

Okay, I stand corrected. They are sorta like what he described. I've got a message in to them for the larger 66 gallon and pricing.

that is cool, I found by chance one somewhere. They are super sturdy . may be you can ask who they sell them to so that people can see if there is a user and thus discarded tanks in the area.
Mine had some nasty stuff in it according the lable but it was already rinsed out when i got it. Would not use it for drinking water.

I'm seriously looking to do it this way, only with 30 gallon drums for fresh and gray water tanks.Easier to fit than a 55, and helps keep travel weight down for fuel mileage. Every bit of weight savings helps. I'll do as he mentioned in the video though and use smaller bulkhead fittings that can fit through the existing barrel fill hole and not cut a big hole in the tank. 1-1/2 will still flow more water than needed as opposed to the 2" he used. You can mount them with straps the same as you would a flat side tank. And these I can get locally for free or $10. I have one here, but would never consider using it, It had liquid Methylene Chloride stripper in it.

I had to laugh when I went back and read this. It was suppose to say 55 gallon, but I sometimes forget I have arthritis in that finger and while I subconsciously aim for the right key but it actually hits the next one.

I imagine for my intended use that I would certainly be able to refill the water somewhere long before I've had 5 showers. I don't, at least at this stage of my life, plan on living in it full time, using it to travel to race tracks and camping.

That's looking earily familiar.
