Certificate of conformity

Hi, we shipped our Thomas school bus to Belgium. To start the import process they want a certificate of conformity delivered by Thomas which states we can transform the bus into a mobile home. Do you need this in the US as well? Thomas replied they can not offer such a document, any solutions?
Thanks a lot

Re: Certificate of conformity

This is the pain in owning a retired school bus. The legal quagmire that can await.
No- I've never heard of this in the States. But every state has different laws and regulations.
side note- Certificate of Conformity sounds like the name of a punk band or something.
Best of luck to you- I lost my first bus because of similar tie-ups. Fight the good fight!
Cheers!

Re: Certificate of conformity

sadly you will never get a C of C from them

why not register as a bus, and then later down the road convert it?

Not required in the UK! You could register in UK and then drive in continental Europe....

A range rover is a "big car" over there- I couldn't imagine driving a bus in the UK or any other part of Europe. You folks have nerves of steel, apparently.
