Chain link fence paint.

Rustolium sells a paint specifically for painting over rust and galvanized.

Y’all speak up if this is a bad idea, but it seems as good or better than just regular old rustolium oil paint.

Floor treated with Ospho, and washed off.

kind of off topic but that seems like a waste of paint try to paint chain link?
not knowing or having a link to the product?
they make cold galvanizing paint from many manufacturers.
either way a spray paint or brush on for chain link fence will waste more money than just getting new chain link especially since the bottom of the fence is buried in grass and wont receive paint.
now that thats over.
galvanizing paint shouldnt be needed inside if you have fixed all of your leaks.
and true galvanized is more of a heated/vatted product the spray or whatever is just a touch up for scratches and it leaves a powdery surface.
they throw the word galvanizing paint out there like its the best there is but it is not as good as they claim.
i do exterior steel work as part of my living so if you want pictures of various projects and experience with the cold galvanized and how long it last(exposed to the elements but not dirrectly) and directly.
PM me i have plenty of jobs going on i can take pictures of .
you already did ospho and cleaned now you need to get some paint on the floor before it starts rusting again.
rustoleum rusty metal primer color doesnt matter.
i think red is the cheapest because its the most common used.
hope this dont seem like a rant????

i might have mis spoke i read your post wrong.
when we have to have galvanized ductwork painted at work that wasnt meant to be painted then they use an acetone to clean it before paint.
my old boss sweared by vinegar to take the coating off of new ductwork for paint and dont agree after going back to some of those buildings years later and attempting it at home for bus window covers.
for sheetmetal ductwork that gets painted we order a grip loc and not galvanized which it is just above plain steel sheet metal so that it soaks up the paint.
it might be new and have never seen it before but the two paints usually dont work on two different types of metal.

Rustoleum fence paint isn’t even the best paint for fences. (25yrs in the fence business) Sherwin Williams aluminum paint applied with a mitt is better. But I wouldn’t use either on a bus. Everyone has an opinion…..

Thanks guys! The paint is for the bare galvanized floor which had some rust. If I had found out about the SherwinWilliams paint in time I might have gotten.

This paint is going to get covered up with flooring and foam.

It definitely stuck well. I could care less about the color. It should last long enough.

So the rustolium chain link fence paint stuck! After two coats I switched to other rustolium paint and kept putting on layers, probably 6 total.

I had a guy dragging a nitrogen cylinder around in there and it did scrape some layers of paint off, but the chain link fence paint stuck.

Prep was Ospho, and mopped off after it dried with a wet rag. Did that twice.
