Chassis-mounted mirrors

Hey fellow skoolies,

Does anyone know where I might be able to buy a pair of chassis-mounted mirrors for my bus? The school district I purchased it from removed them before they sold it. Junkyards near Brighton, MI? Any ideas? What are the mirrors even called? I can't seem to find any on eBay - but I don't know a brand to search

Thanks!
Ryan

Re: Chassis-mounted mirrors

Peterson Manufacturing makes all kinds of mirrors (and lights and conspicuity tape, etc). Go to your local parts store and have them pull out the catalog and take a peak. I'd do it for you, but all my catalogs are still packed away following a recent move.

They're usually called "cross view" or "crossover" mirrors.

http://commerce1.cera.net/tacbuspart...asp?cat_id=160 (If they don't have the exact mount you need for your bus, you can call them to ask)

Re: Chassis-mounted mirrors

Thanks for the info, guys. I didn't realize they were quite so expensive....maybe that's the reason the school district kept 'em! I won't install them until after painting so that gives me plenty of time to call around to junkyards and see if they have any available. Have a great Sunday

Re: Chassis-mounted mirrors

Are you talkng about the basic side mirrors?? If so those are generally called West Coast Style mirrors. If you're talking about the half moons so you can see your front bumper I'm not sure what they are called. The company I work for sell the West Coast Mirrors, but we only carry Stainless Steel and those puppies can get very expensive. You should be able to find some basic metal painted black mirrors at any junk yard. You could also look around ebay...
