Chopping the Stairs

I don't know if this has been done by anybody before... I am toying with the idea of cuting off the bottom stair and moving it up so that from the outside the bus has the same ground clearance all the way around. The botom step could be moved up a foot and then to help people (who would need it) get up to it one of those fold out rv steps could be used.

What do you think? (The door of course would have to be shortened also.)

Sounds like a great idea. You might need to add a drop down set of stairs like on an RV if the first step is to high.

Yes I guess I should have known it was coming but I read the fold out and missed the RV part in Steves post. As RV steps don't usually fold out I thought he was talking about something else. They are made several ways but I was thinking of the ones that slide out and down on slotted hangers...

What ever I think it a great idea to raise the door well for lack of better term.
