Composting toilet w/ tumbler

Hey all, my first post here woohoo!

So, I've got myself a bus and whole lot of ideas. Its time I started sorting thru the viability of some of my ideas and come up with a solid build plan.

One thing that has perplexed me is the best solution for a toilet. I'd like to go dry/composting so as to conserve water. However I don't want to feel like a cat in a litter box, and I don't want to be emptying the container very often.

The idea I'm playing with is a water diverting toilet, with a large tank for liquids and a DIY compost tumbler to contain the solids, both housed in the basement. Possibly the tumbler could even sift out composted material into a tray underneath for easy disposal.

Anyone try a solution like this? I know Sun-mar offers a similar small integrated system but the reviews I've seen haven't been great.

Sure gives a new meaning to "roll your own," doesn't it?
