Anyone here sew? I'm thinking of making a couch out of a single futon mattress and wood frame. I'm thinking of cutting holes in the mattress and sewing a tube through it so that a seat belt could fit through hole. Does that sound insanely difficult? I cannot figure any other way to make a couch for free. The mattress was gifted to us - check out our blog to get what we are doing?
We ended up answering our own question. I simply cut the futon mattress in half and sewed up the sides again. We cut it to size and made a platform to sit on in the bus. It turned out pretty good. Now we're gonna cover it with something colorful for Mexico using Sunbrella fabric. We'll post photos on our blog soon showing pictures of the project.
