Do you use the rear door of your bus?

Do you use the rear door of your bus or do you seal it off? Or do you convert the rear of the bus to something like a sliding or barn door? Post your uses and ideas here.

Re: Do you use the rear door of your bus?

I used the back door to get my refrigerator into the bus. I closed and insulated the front door. Now I use the back door for entry.

Re: Do you use the rear door of your bus?

I like the rear entrance Accordian has. I have an exit on the port side and one in the rear. I just have them for emergency use if I need to get out from the back.

Re: Do you use the rear door of your bus?

I have a portable toilet sitting in front of the rear door which can easily be moved when I want to load a sheet of plywood or something like that. I also have a side wheelchair door which is normally unobstructed and is most frequently used for loading stuff in and out of the bus. I went out of my way to lay out my floor plan with a corridor that runs the full length of the bus. That way I can haul very long pieces of material like lumber, pipe, gutters, or ladders, etc. So of course I left the rear door usable so I could load those large/long items into the bus. Having this cargo capacity means that I may be able to sell my pickup truck one of these days.

I use mine all the time. I would never cover mine up. I'm speaking about the door.

Re: Do you use the rear door of your bus?

Our rear door will be used to get appliances in/out because they certainly won't make it out the entry door. We still need to install the washing machine (top loader) and a gas dryer. Our bed sits right in front of the door. So a removable wall was needed. For emergencies, we have placed the two original emergency windows in the bedroom (one on each side).

use the rear engine door to service that
use rear window door to load stuff in the walk in closet, if its too big for the hall door.

Re: Do you use the rear door of your bus?

We use our read door, with the kids it is nice to have two exits after bed time. We can lock the rear door and just use the front. It helps to keep as well in the day to kick open the windows and the doors to get the extra air flow in the summer time.

Also I do not have a lock on the front of the bus so I drop a 2x6 frame in the stair to keep the doors closed so the read is our primary entrance since it is lockable.

Re: Do you use the rear door of your bus?

You could probably fit one of those little Smart cars in there.

Couple of slide outs and you could use the bus for a figure eight Smart car race track! BIG bucks to be made there!
